Take a drive to the northeastern side of the Island to the only rainforest in the US – El Yungue. This lush, wild rainforest in Puerto Rico features over 28,000 acres of natural terrain, island allure and tropical splendor. Enjoy zip lining through the trees, rock climbing, hiking and guided tours of the trails, like La Mina trail. Discover cascading waterfalls and clear pools for swimming. If you prefer to hike and explore the rainforest at your own pace, the trails are clearly marked for ease and enjoyment.

What activities will I find at El Yunque?
El Yunque National Forest is an adventure paradise with miles of nature trails for hiking and climbing, scenic paths, picnic areas, guided tours and incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Enjoy a family picnic, trek through the giant tree ferns and see tropical birds such as the Puerto Rican Parrot. Discover beautiful waterfalls and take a swim in the cool river pools.
Are there guided tours available?
Forest tours are given by experienced guides and interpreters. However, if you choose to explore at your own pace, you do not need a guide to see the rainforest. Just follow the clearly marked trails.
